I didn’t grow up baking but I always loved cakes, cookies, candy and anything sweet! When I was teaching piano, I started baking cookies to give to my students at Christmas time. And then when I started my wedding planning business I started baking for my clients mostly to keep the grooms happy while the bride was oohing and aahing over linens or flowers. I guess I got pretty good as I have baked for my client’s wedding from poppy seed kolache to potato chip cookies to the classic chocolate chip cookie.
At some point I realized that baking also was a sort of active meditation for me and sharing my baking with others gave me a lot of joy.
I also love baking for friends that have food allergies or intolerances. I believe everyone should be able to enjoy something delicious and it’s my honor to be able to bake them something sweet.
At the end of the day, baking with intention and purpose brings me joy and I do believe that baking is love made edible.
